Some obscure racing engines. My three favorites are the IRL Infiniti, the Aurora, and the Subaru flat 12

You want obscure? Here's obscure.
The Life W12 Formula One engine.

Have a Life W-12 F1 engine. Spoiler: It sucked beyond doubt. the harmonics killed it constantly. In the late 60's Ferrari investigated a w-18 engine for F-1 and the engineer eventually found someone to pay for some of those ideas to race with. It was heavy and slow.

Lycoming 0-290 flat 4, in The Lycoming Special . OK, it was intended as an aero engine, but whatever works...

Or Jaguar 5.0 litre quad cam V12. Only 6 built, and none ever actually raced.
